Brand new UK top 4 sees Tomb Raider emerge victorious

Sim City takes second as Crysis 3 drops 5 places to sixth, behind Fifa 13

The UK has new names occupying the top four spots in its software chart, headed up by Crystal Dynamics' reboot of Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider marks the biggest UK launch week so far, comfortably doubling sell-through of Aliens: Colonial Marines, according to tracking group GFK Chart Track. It's also the best launch week for any game in the series so far.

Following Lara's origin story is EA's SimCity, which reviewed well but has been hamstrung by numerous server availability issues and customer concerns. Third comes with something of a surprise as Namco Bandai enters the chart with a game, and a series, which sees precious little coverage from most games media outlets, Naruto Shippenden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Fourth is the University Life expansion for the Sims 3.

Whilst the ever-present FIFA has managed to hold onto fifth place from last week, the previous number one has fallen behind it to sixth in the form of Crysis 3, nonetheless marking EA's fourth top-ten spot.

Finished it with 100% overall completion and about to play it again and get a friend to try it out so he can buy it then, it is that good of an origin story.
Congrats to Crystal Dynamics, awesome to see something you have worked for so long get up on the spot it deserves!

If a standard should be created about how to make a reboot of a series, Tomb Raider 2013 should be one of - if not the one - example to follow through. Everything offered in this game has surprised me positively so much I genuinely felt the need to skip work just to play it through.
A big congratulations is due to Crystal Dynamics for this stellar work, as a big - since '96 - Tomb Raider fan, I'm very excited to see what comes next in Lara's story.

Please take it slow, make it right and lets not allow investors get in the way of what can be one of the best remakes I've ever seen since The Dark Knight trilogy.

Congrats once again, you deserve every penny.
