Capcom's Strategic Marketing Director leaves to pursue a "new dream"

After a six-year career at Capcom, fighting game aficionado Seth Killian announced today that he's departing to "embrace a new dream". Killian has jumped from being a professional Street Fighter II player, to founding the EVO Championships, before finally landing with Capcom. His last day will be this Friday, June 22.

"In no uncertain terms, Capcom has been a dream for me," wrote Killian in a post on the Capcom Unity blog.

"I have chosen a new path which will let me embrace a new dream, but to everyone that ever believed in this dream we shared together, let me say this final thanks. I will leave as I began--a Capcom fan for life, looking forward to all the great games still to come."

Killian gave no hint as to what his future plans are. Hopefully they aren't with SNK.

Everyone is leaving capcom now a days... According to CAPCOM... "street fighter is a dead franchise, it doesnt make money. Why bother..."

Capcom doesnt belive in its own products. They are stupid, because those IP's are what put capcom were it is in the first place. They lost all this great talent... Shinji Mikami, Keiji Inafune, Akira Yasuda, Akira Nishitani, Hideki Kamiya, Atsushi Inaba, The people who are responsible for inventing franchises like street fighter, megaman, devil may cry, vanquish, viewtiful joe, Okami, bayonetta, resident evil, Forgotten worlds, power stone, Trojan, Bionic Commando etc. etc. etc.

The only guy there trying to do anything now a days is Yoshinori Ono. If not for him Street Fighter IV would not have seen the light of day.

CAPCOM wants to make western/american games... good luck with that. I just think they should keep doing what they are good at and just approach it differantly, not do away with it all together. If Megaman had the production value and greater design aesthetics and enhanced game play, like donkey kong country it could be great.

You know CAPCOM has as many franchises as Nintendo. They have great IP... They are just making crap games. Games with no soul to them. And if they make a game from an old franchise they expect to make a mediocre game and expect it to sell anyway because it has megaman, final fight or bionic commando in the name. im certain Bionic Commando reArmed 2 and Final fight: StreetWise, could have been much more than what they were.
