Games and apps will star The Situation from the popular MTV reality show

Apps Genius has signed a deal with Jersey Shore cast member Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to create apps and social games.

"We are really excited that The Situation and family have chosen The Apps Genius Celebrity Entertainment Division to develop their social games and mobile applications, said CEO Adam Kotkin.

"The games and apps developed with The Situation and Family will be designed for their large fan base of over 5,000,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter."

Apps Genius has already immortalised Jersey Shore cast member Snooki with Snookify Me for iOS. Its portfolio also includes iOS titles Slap A Friend and Bed Bug Alert, and Facebook titles like Drama Llama.

"This is a great opportunity for my company and I to be involved in the social gaming and mobile application industry," said Sorrentino.

"Not only am I very proud to introduce Jersey culture into the social gaming and mobile application industry, but also very excited that my family is a part of it too. I love the games and applications that my family and I have been working on with Apps Genius, and I know Jersey Shore viewers and my other fans will love them too."

Four games and apps will be created within the next 18 months. Development of the first title will begin immediately.

I'd be impressed if they sign Geordie Shore, too. There's a game in there somewhere, I'm sure of it!

I think pop culture and society has hit an all time low with this PR announcement alone. Guess it's all down hill from here.
