Verbinski's production studio inks Microsoft content deal
Blind Wink on board for XBLA Kinect title due in 2012
Filmmaker Gore Verbinski's Blind Wink Productions company has inked a deal to create exclusive content for Microsoft.
The first project will be an Xbox Live Arcade game for Kinect to be released late next year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"Audiences consume content very differently today," offered Verbinski. "As an idea house, we at Blind Wink are looking forward to our partnership with Microsoft. Their various platforms give us access to new methods of distribution, allowing us to extend into emerging markets and connect more directly with the audience."
Blind Wink's first movie production was the animated film Rango, starring Johnny Depp, with a spin-off game developed in conjunction with Paramount and published by Electronic Arts. The Microsoft deal suggests Blind Wink will not just be limited to games, with future content offered over other Microsoft platforms.
