Japanese Kinect sales at 114,000 after first year

Forza Motorsport 4 and DanceEvolution its biggest selling titles

A year after the XBox 360 camera peripheral launched in Japan, Kinect has sold 114,000 units.

Breaking down the sales by month, Andriasang shows that November 2010 saw sales of 27,800, which then rose to peak at 43,200 in December. By February sales had dropped to 5,040.

The total for this month, which includes sales up until November 13, currently stands at 1,980.

Kinect Adventures, which comes bundled with the peripheral, is consequently at the top of the software sales numbers with 114,000. Following behind, at some distance, is Forza Motorsport 4 with 24,900, DanceEvolution with 22,400 and Kinect Sports with 13,000.

In August, Microsoft had sold 1.5 million Xbox 360 units in Japan.

The figures came from a translated report by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.
