500,000 sign up for The Secret World beta
Funcom says interest is greater than Age of Conan with six months until launch
More than 500,000 people have registered for the beta-testing of Funcom's forthcoming MMO, The Secret World.
Funcom's CEO, Trond Arne Aas, said that he was "thrilled" at the amount of interest the game was receiving, particularly with the launch still six months away.
"The gamer interest in The Secret World and the community size for the game is even greater than we experienced with Age of Conan at the same stage of development," he said in a statement.
"We expect the community size to keep on expanding at an ever faster pace in the coming months as we approach open beta and launch."
The business model for The Secret World hasn't been announced. It is due to launch in April 2012.
