Deus Ex holds off Driver to retain UK top spot

Deus Ex: Human Revolution's sales drop by half, Driver: San Francisco enters at number two

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is still the number one game in the UK despite losing nearly half its sales since unseating Zumba Fitness last week.

Sales of Eidos Montreal's celebrated sequel dropped 46 per cent in the week ending September 3. Xbox 360 remained the clear platform of choice with a 59 per cent share, versus 33 per cent on PlayStation 3.

The highest new entry was another belated sequel, Driver: San Francisco, which reached number two, and showed a more even split between the console platforms - 53 per cent on Xbox 360, and 46 per cent on PlayStation 3.

Two other new releases entered the top 40: Madden NFL 12 charted at a respectable number six, while Bodycount's sales reflected its underwhelming review scores, scraping in at number 36.
