Nexon US sales up 38 per cent

Digital MMO publisher sees growth in Q2 while traditional boxed market continues to decline

Nexon of America has seen sales grow 38 per cent during the second quarter, boosted by new content for its popular online games.

The growth is in contrast to the traditional games market, where boxed sales at US retail have continued to decline through the year.

"The second quarter was an example of us doing what we do best," commented Daniel Kim, Nexon America's CEO.

"We delivered compelling content that kept our players coming back to take on adventures and have fun in our games, regardless of whether they pay a few dollars or play for free."

During the quarter Nexon released new content for MapleStory, Mabinogi, Dungeon Fighter Online and Vindictus, as well as removing play-time barriers for some games.
