UKIE, BAFTA and TIGA have all pledged support for the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair, taking place as part of the Eurogamer Expo, September 22-25.
The event is designed for students, graduates and those looking for a new move in the rapidly changing video game industry, and will feature career talks, roundtables and Q&A sessions from UK and international game developers.
"The Career Fair at the Eurogamer Expo is an outstanding opportunity for industry to reach out to the potential employees of the future," commented Sam Collins, UKIE commercial director.
"UKIE is leading the implementation of the recently published Livingstone Hope review, and one of the key recommendations is to ensure individuals have a clearly defined path into the video game industry. The Career Fair is an excellent way of achieving this goal."
TIGA and UKIE members who are interested in attending will receive a 10 per cent discount on exhibiting at the event, which takes place at London's Earls Court.
"TIGA's vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. Realising this vision means helping the next wave of qualified and talented students to start a career in the industry," offered Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA. "So TIGA is pleased to be partnering with GamesIndustry.biz and supporting the Career Fair. It will provide a great opportunity to learn more about our dynamic industry and perhaps find employment."
BAFTA will be hosting workshops to support the Young Game Designers competition for 11-16 year-olds. It will also host two workshops - one for schools and one for the general public, on Friday September 23 and Saturday September 24, respectively.
"Eurogamer Expo offers a great opportunity for BAFTA to share industry expertise with career starters, and inspire young people into a career in video games," added Tim Hunter, head of learning and events at BAFTA.
