Kojima Productions unveils Fox engine

New tech designed for multiplatform and will power next game

Hideo Kojima's studio has unveiled a new engine which will power the company's next game in a pre-E3 Konami showcase.

Kojima spoke about the new engine as a key factor in shortening multiplatform development times and said that he hopes it will become the "best in the world". 2011 would be "a year of preparations," he said, with more news on his new title to be expected in 2012.

At the end of March, Hideo Kojima was promoted vice president at Konami Digital, which gave him more creative freedom at the company.

Also at the showcase were announcements of a new, NGP-based Silent Hill game, a PS3 and Xbox 360 Metal Gear Solid collection and a teaser for a new Contra title. Kojima also confirmed the long-suspected Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker HD port to PlayStation 3.
