Row Sham Bow raises $3 million from Intersouth Partners

Studio formed by EA Tiburon vets lands investment

New games studio Row Sham Bow has secured $3 million from investment firm Intersouth Partners.

The Orlando-based social games company was established by Philip Holt and Nick Gonzalez, both of whom have spent time at EA's Tiburon studio.

"We believe that having a highly respected venture firm like Intersouth make its first gaming investment in Row Sham Bow not only illustrates the opportunity we have, but also demonstrates the continuing value that Orlando has as an important game development centre," commented Holt.

Row Sham bow has been formed with financial assistance from local incentives, and plans to grow to around 60 staff.

"It's not common to find a strong team like the one leading Row Sham Bow," added John Glushik of Intersouth Partners, who now takes a seat on the board.

"With proven experience developing for and leading gaming companies, this team is perfectly composed to lead a company that is creating innovative games and technology that will engage audiences in new ways."
