Play Eternal working on first Vision Engine powered title

Members of Activision's Vicarious Visions studio have formed a new console development studio in Philadelphia, Play Eternal.

Senior management includes Albert Vazquez and Brandon Van Slyke, who have both worked on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Louis Tranchitella and Michael Worth.

"The market for premium digital services on consoles continues to grow, and we're excited about the possibilities the space offers", said Van Slyke, chief creative officer of Play Eternal.

"The talent we've been able to attract is perfectly aligned to develop highly polished and engaging games for digital distribution to the core audience."

"Having worked on titles for Gearbox, Obsidian, Blue Fang and Nickelodeon, the team is currently busy with its first game using Trinigy's Vision engine.

Vision Game Engine's powerful and robust technology gives us the freedom to fully utilize the extensive talent we have assembled," added Tranchitella, CEO.

"Vision's multi-platform optimizations, numerous 3rd-party integrations, and outstanding support are enabling us to create a high-quality game that easily distributes to multiple game platforms."

Well if I wasn't skeptical it would be because I didn't know much about the industry. I truly hope this "vision" comes to fruition. There is a wide open market for any developer that can deliver consistant, quality titles in the digital format. Although they will have to have more than quality. Local and online multiplayer are a must. Well balanced difficulty setting seems to be an issue for these types of games. Trophies and achievements need to be will designed and more than just a reward for arbitrary slogging. And last but nowhere near least, the price needs to be right. The fifteen dollar benchmark that has become the norm is too high. I guess a true quality title would warrant such a price but ten dollars would set you apart enough to intrigue even the most jaded gamer.
