Lemarchand, Garriott, Pratchett and more discuss the resurgence of story in videogames

While story-telling was once an important hook in the early days of videogames, it faded into the background as visual and technological advances took centre stage. But with titles such as Uncharted 2, the Assassin's Creed series and Heavenly Sword receiving praise for script, character and plot as much as graphical accomplishments, story-telling is once again a central part of the creation of engaging videogames.

In the latest episode of Game Theory, Scott Steinberg, founder of Game Industry TV, discusses the resurgence of story-telling in videogames with contributions from Ultima creator Richard Garriott, Corey May writer of Assassin's Creed II, Heavenly Sword writer Rhianna Pratchett, Uncharted 2's Lemarchand and Jane Jensen, creator of Gabriel Knight, amongst others.
