$10m funding for Cupcake Corner dev

OMGPOP now looking to acquire other studios

Social and mobile developer OMGPOP has secured second round funding of $10.1 million.

The one-time online game studio now focuses on Facebook, with the 1.6 million MUA Cupcake Corner its current brightest star.

Following the investment from Rho Capital, Softbank, Spark Capital and Betaworks it plans to launch five more Facebook and iPhone titles during the next six months.

The 35-strong San Francisco team also hopes to acquire some smaller studios, telling the SF Chronicle that it has resisted overtures from larger firms itself.

OMGPOP, once known as iminlikewithyou, had previously raised $5 million in funding back in 2009.
