Unity and Activision join Festival of Games

Publisher's dev relations VP and middleware firm co-founder speaking

Activision's VP of Developer Relations Dan Winters and Unity co-founder Nicholas Francis are the latest additions to the Festival of Games conference.

Former Disney and EA man Winters will offer guidance to developers looking to entice a publisher, while Francis is to discuss Unity's vision of the industry's future.

Said Winters, "With the changing industry landscape, developers have to adapt their project pitch and consider things such as changed media consumption and alternative gaming experience."

Of his speech, Francis offered that "We're living in a truly exciting time - new ways of gaming are popping up left, right and center. This gives game developers fantastic opportunities, but also a lot of new design considerations when creating games."

The Festival of Games is slated for April 28 and 29 next year at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht (the Netherlands.) More details are available here.

Said Seth van der Meer, chairman of the Festival of Games: "Having the biggest multi-platform game engine together with the largest game publisher in the world at the Festival of Games shows the growing importance of Europe in the games environment."
