Sony merges US and UK Singstar stores

Euro-only content for the US following new agreement with Universal

Singstore, the Playstation 3's download service for Singstar tracks, is no longer split into differing US and UK shops.

Previously, the US store lacked songs from Universal, "the world's leading music company," due to a licensing issue. Following the resolution of this, both English-language versions of Singstar are to offer identical content.

"SingStar updates will be one and the same for both stores," said Sony in a statement, "and fans in the US will have access to the same great music and artists as our friends across the pond."

A series of further updates will add back catalogue Europe-only content to the US store, with the first of these containing 64 tracks from the likes of Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga.
