TopWare to open UK office as Two Worlds sequel hits 1m sales

RPG title hits sales milestone within 3 weeks of release in mainland Europe

German publisher and developer TopWare Interactive is to open an office in the UK following success in Europe with Two Worlds II, a game that has sold 1 million units in three weeks.

Although the game has been released in mainland Europe, ongoing issues with original publisher SouthPeak have pushed back the UK release to January, with TopWare taking back publishing duties.

"Both TopWare and South Peak want our game to get the attention it deserves," commented TopWare managing director James Seaman.

"South Peak wants to give the North American market 100 per cent of their attention, and we're happy we were able to take some of the weight off their shoulders."

SouthPeak has in fact faced legal difficulties releasing games in the UK, with bailiffs seizing stock from distributor's warehouses in order to sell off and repay debts.

TopWare said that it hopes to open an office in the UK within six months to better serve releases in the region.
