Zynga launching localised Farmville in Japan

Farm Village to be available on Japan's most popular social network

Zynga is to launch a localised, mobile version of runaway Facebook success Farmville in Japan, featuring the game on Mixi, the country's most popular social network.

The localised Farm Village is due to launch in December on the smartphones for which Mixi is available – there's currently no web version, but Mixi is predominantly accessed by mobile.

The announcement was made by Mixi president President Kenji Kasahara in Japan, Bloomberg reports.

Zynga founded its Japanese arm in July, quickly followed by the raising of over £90 million in funding from Japanese telecom company Softbank and the acquisition of mobile start-up Unoh.
