Title becomes the first on platform to sell four million

New Super Mario Bros Wii has become the fist Wii title to sell over four million copies in a single territory.

According to Japanese market tracker Enterbrain, the game had sold 4,001,276 units as of Sunday, Andriasang reports. New Super Mario Bros. Wii has been the system's best selling tile since March this year, when it passed 3.5 million sales.

The milestone comes just before the game becomes a year old on December 3 and just after the celebrations of Mario's 25th anniversary.
