Asus and Bigpoint ink gaming platform partnership

Bigpoint's titles to be available on proprietary @Vibe service

German online publisher Bigpoint has entered a partnership with PC manufacturer Asus which will see its games become available on Asus' new @Vibe entertainment platform.

The platform will shipping with all new Eee PC laptops and Asus notebooks from the third quarter of 2010, but is available for download by Asus owners immediately.

Asus @Vibe offers users a selection of music, audio and video content, including book, magazine and educational content alongside games. Bigpoint's games on the platform include Seafight, DarkOrbit and Farmerama, all of which can be played once users have registered with @Vibe and dowloaded the platform.

"The global cooperation with ASUS is unique and stands out among our over one thousand media partnerships," said Lothar Eckstein, chief marketing officer of Bigpoint.

"The fact that our online games will be available directly on ASUS laptops, a very popular brand among gamers, is fantastic, and it's a great opportunity to expand our 130-million user base in a big way."
