Press Release PROVIDED BY GAMES PRESS

International eSports Conference

Cologne, 27. – 28. Mai 2008

Berlin, 11.04.2008. The „International eSports Conference“ (ESCONF), which is going to take place at Electronic Arts in Cologne from the 27th to the 28th of May, will be expanded with the addition of the matchmaking platform “eSports-Connection” for the very first time. The idea behind eSports-Connection is to support initiating business relationships between national and international eSport teams, as well as gaming communities focusing on lifestyle, marketing, media, information technology, telecommunication and entertainment software, who are planning to invest in gaming.

„This year, we want to offer eSport teams and representatives of business and the media the opportunity, to get to know each other better and gather information of potential partners”, as Frank Sliwka, Conference Director, explains this new sector. “In this way, partners can get into talks, enlarge their networks and present projects and businesses, as well as initiate deals.”

The eSports-Connection takes place on 27th of May between 3.00 and 7.00 p.m. Discussions and talks are provided a zoned area, rendering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Each talk lasts twenty minutes. The host, Global Games Media, is in charge of the coordination of the debates and appoints each participant with an individual schedule. Hence, “eSports-Connection” makes it possible for the attendants, to exchange ideas and thoughts with several partners in a short period of time. Interested teams, communities, businesses and media representatives may apply directly to the host for the „eSports-Connection” until the 30th of April.
