Magic Leap releasing AR SDK soon

Compatible with Unreal and Unity game engines

Augmented reality company Magic Leap, who hit headlines last year thanks to a $542 million Series B financing round led by Google, has announced it will be making its development platform available soon.

It broke the news on social media and at MIT's EmTech Digital conference (reported by TechCrunch) and revealed that the SDK would be compatible with Unreal and Unity game engines.

Interested developers can now sign up at the developer section of Magic Leap's site.

"Using our Dynamic Digitized Lightfield Signal, imagine being able to generate images indistinguishable from real objects and then being able to place those images seamlessly into the real world," it says on its developer page.

"Imagine what experiences you could create if you had this ability. Imagine how this would completely transform how people interact with both the digital and real-worlds. Imagine you being one of the first to help transform the world forever. For the time being, we're being a little tight-lipped in what we're communicating publicly, but under the appropriate non-disclosures, we'd love to talk possibilities."
